Cine and TV Artistes’ Association vice-president and veteran actor Padmini Kolhapure has voiced support for Ranveer Singh following the Federation of Western India Cine Employees’ non-cooperation directive against the actor over his exit from Don 3.

Speaking on the controversy, Kolhapure said CINTAA stood by Ranveer Singh and would support him whenever needed. “CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as our member. We stand by him and for him whenever he needs us,” she said. Music composer Anu Malik was also present during the interaction.

FWICE earlier announced a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar filed a complaint regarding the actor’s withdrawal from Don 3. According to FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, the complaint was submitted on April 11 and alleged that Ranveer exited the film just three weeks before the shooting unit was scheduled to leave, causing major disruption to the production.

Pandit said producer Ritesh Sidhwani attended a meeting called by FWICE while Farhan Akhtar joined virtually from London. He added that the federation issued three notices to Ranveer Singh but did not receive any response.

Later, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson released a statement saying the actor had chosen to maintain silence and believed professional matters should be handled with “dignity, maturity and mutual respect.” The statement added that Ranveer continued to hold goodwill towards everyone associated with the Don franchise.

FWICE later clarified that its action was not a ban but a temporary non-cooperation directive. Pandit said the federation could not legally ban anyone but had advised its members across 30 crafts not to work with the actor until the issue was resolved.

According to reports, the dispute also involves concerns over nearly Rs 45 crore already invested in the project. Sources said all parties are open to discussions to resolve the matter and restart the film.
