The National Christian Federation has filed a formal complaint against the Kannada film Toxic, alleging that certain scenes in the movie hurt Christian religious sentiments and portray Christianity in a derogatory manner.

In the complaint, the organisation said the film contains visuals that are offensive to the Christian community.

It specifically objected to scenes involving Saint Michael the Archangel, claiming the depiction is inappropriate and amounts to an insult to a revered religious figure.

The federation further alleged that objectionable and obscene visuals have been shown in the presence of angels, which it described as unacceptable and deeply offensive to Christian beliefs. According to the organisation, such portrayals disrespect religious values and sentiments.

The National Christian Federation has demanded the immediate removal of the disputed scenes from the film, including related content uploaded on YouTube. It has also called on the filmmakers to take corrective action to address the concerns raised by the community.

The complaint has been submitted to the Film Chamber of Commerce, the state government’s Chief Secretary and Home Secretary, and the Central Board of Film Certification. The federation said these authorities have been urged to intervene in the matter.

The complaint was filed by Pradeep Kumar, president of the National Christian Federation, who has asked the film’s makers to remove the controversial content and issue a public apology to the Christian community.

The organisation has warned that it will initiate legal action if its demands are not met.
