Pooja Bhatt took to social media to confirm the death of yesteryear Bollywood actor Faraaz Khan. The actor was diagnosed with a brain infection and pneumonia, which he had been left battling for his life.

Mourning his demise, Bhatt tweeted, "With a heavy heart I break the news that #FaraazKhan has left us for what I believe, is a better place. Gratitude to all for your help & good wishes when he needed it most. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers. The void he has left behind will be impossible to fill."

Earlier, Pooja Bhatt had taken to social media to urge fans to raise funds for Khan's treatment, details of which were shared in a fundraiser started by his family members Farhad Abousher and Ahmed Shamoon.

Following Pooja Bhatt's tweet, former Bigg Boss contestant Kashmera Shah shared that Salman Khan had covered the medical expenses of the former Bollywood actor.

Faraaz was a former television actor and the son of actor Yusuf Khan. He was seen in films such as 'Mehendi' and 'Fareb', and had a blooming career in the 1900's, stretching to the early 2000's. He was also initially cast in 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' but was replaced by Salman Khan. Faraaz has also acted in films like 'Prithvi' (1997), and 'Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya' (2001), 'Dulhan Banoo Main Teri' (1999), and 'Chand Bujh Gaya' (2005) among others.
