After veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor tragically passed away last year, it has been revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will reprise his role in the Bollywood remake of Nancy Meyer's 'The Intern'. The announcement was made on Twitter by actress Deepika Padukone, who also shared a first-look poster of the upcoming film.

"What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-stars again!💛 Welcoming @amitabhbachchan to the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern." the actress wrote.

The remake will star Deepika Padukone in the role originally played by Anne Hathaway. 'The Intern' is a comedy-drama that features Robert De Niro in the lead role as a widower who comes out of retirement to assume the job of an intern at an up and coming fashion company.

'The Intern' is to be directed by Amit Sharma of 'Badhaai Ho' fame and is co-produced by Sunil Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone (under her KA Productions) in association with Warner Bros India. The screenplay has been penned by Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
