Amber Heard lashes out at Johnny Depp's 'moving-on' post
text_fieldsJohnny Depp's moving-on post on Instagram, with a bunch of his own video clips, on Tuesday, triggers his ex-wife Amber Heard, who slammed Depp, saying that while he is moving forward, women's rights are in reverse gear.
On Tuesday, the Hollywood superstar, Depp, posted his first-ever video on TikTok after winning the defamation case he filed against actress Heard, conveying an emotional message to his fans.
Depp wrote, "To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters," the Hollywood actor wrote in the caption. We've been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. You are, as always, my employers, and once again, I am whittled down to no way to say thank you other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love and respect, JD."
Within hours, millions of people liked Mr Depp's post. However, hours later, Ms Heard lashed out at the verdict and Mr Depp's claims that he is "moving forward".
The post was read by millions within hours, including Heard. She lashed out, "As Johnny Depp says he's 'moving forward,' women's rights are moving backwards," quotes Today.com. According to her, the court verdict standover survivors of domestic violence, scaring them against standing up and speaking out.
On June 1, a jury unanimously ruled that there was clear-conviving evidence that Heard defamed Depp through her 2018 op-ed article, alleging she was subjected to Depp's domestic violence in Washington Post. The jury awarded Depp USD15 million, which was later capped at USD10.35 million.
However, reports suggest that Heard is going to appeal the verdict against her, and her lawyer stated that she is "absolutely not" able to pay the USD10 million damages.
