Recently, a post on social media went viral mistakenly congratulating Indian actor Adil Hussain instead of Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec for winning an Olympic silver medal.

The actor shared his thoughts on the mix-up in an interview with Hindustan Times, humorously highlighting the only similarities between him and the athlete.

When asked if he saw any resemblance to the shooter, Adil Hussain replied, "Absolutely not. I don't think there is any similarity apart from the grey hair and the frame of the glasses."

The confusion arose from a post on X, featuring a collage of Adil Hussain and Yusuf Dikec with the caption, "Congratulations sir @_AdilHussain on winning silver at Olympics 2024 for Turkey."

In his characteristic witty style, Adil re-shared the post, writing, "Wish this was true... Maybe it's not too late to start practicing... Since I have the attitude, need to work on the skill set now."

Clarifying the situation, Adil told Hindustan Times that the tweet wasn't due to a genuine mistake but was intended as a jest.

"Well, I don't think the tweet was done because of a misunderstanding. It was a deliberate thing that they have done. It was made in jest, so I was not shocked after stumbling upon it," he said, adding, "The tweet was made in a light-hearted way, and I took it sportingly. It was really funny."

Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec won a silver medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event, becoming an overnight sensation and sparking a meme-fest on social media for his apparent nonchalance during the competition.

Adil Hussain, recently seen in Janhvi Kapoor's "Ulajh," is known for his roles in films like "Aiyaary," "Kabir Singh," "Bell Bottom," "Dobaara: See Your Evil," and "Parched," among others.
