29th Critics Choice Awards: Oppenheimer tops with 8 wins, Barbie with 6

Los Angeles: The Critics Choice Awards were concluded recently, and ‘Oppenheimer’ took home eight trophies, emerging as the big winner at the ceremony.
The film bagged awards for the best picture, director (Christopher Nolan) and supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.). ‘Barbie’ followed with six wins, including Best Comedy and Best Song, reports Variety.
The ceremony shook up the awards race, handing Best Actress to Emma Stone (‘Poor Things’) and Best Actor to Paul Giamatti (‘The Holdovers’).
As per Variety, there were fewer surprises on the television side, as ‘The Bear’, ‘Succession’ and ‘Beef’ won big, each taking multiple acting awards and winning best comedy series, drama series and limited series, respectively.
‘The Bear’ and ‘Beef’ each took home four awards, and 'Succession' landed three. Chelsea Handler hosted the Sunday night ceremony, broadcast live on the CW and held at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar.
Harrison Ford accepted the career achievement award, giving one of the most memorable speeches of the Critics Choice Awards.
A visibly emotional Ford took the stage midway through the ceremony to accept the award, honouring his body of work, which includes some of the biggest blockbusters in history, like playing Han Solo in ‘Star Wars’ and archaeologist Indiana Jones, reports Variety.
America Ferrera was honoured with the SeeHer Award.
