In Assam's Silchar, Congress Ahead of Incumbent BJP by Almost 3,000
Indian National Congress candidate, Tamal Kanti Banik is leading with 2,870 votes in Assam’s Silchar at 11:40 am. BJP has filed Dipayan Chakraborty.
Silchar is an Assembly/Vidhan Sabha seat in the Barak Valley region and Cachar district of Assam. This seat can be categorised as an Urban constituency.

BJP leading in Sadiya, Margherita constituencies
Bolin Chetia of BJP is leading in the Sadia constituency with 13,710 votes against Lakhin Chandra Chetia of INC 11,260 votes at 12.08 pm.
Bolin Chetia has represented the Sadiya Assembly constituency for three terms since 2006. In 2016, Bolin Chetia of Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat by defeating Birinchi Neog from Indian National Congress with a margin of 6566 votes.
Meanwhile, BJP's Bhaskar Sharma is ahead of INC from Margherita Constituency.

BJP will form the govt. again, says Chief Minister Sonowal
As the early trends in the assembly poll results in Assam favour the Bharatiya Janta Party, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was quoted saying to ANI, "As per the trends, it is clear that Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government in Assam.
The much-anticipated results for the 126-member legislative assembly in Assam started today at 8 AM. According to the early trends, the Bharatiya Janta Party has crossed the halfway mark in the state. This year witnessed a tough battle between Congress-led 'Mahajot' alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The BJP, which is banking on the Modi wave, is looking to retain power in Assam for the second straight term. If the exit polls are to be believed, then the BJP, which won 86 out of 126 seats in Assam in 2016, will get another term in the state.
However, the Congress, which ruled the state for 15 years till 2016, is looking to make a comeback in Assam. The party has also rejected the exit poll claims, saying it "fought a good election unitedly" and will wait for "the final verdict of the people".

Official voting trends in Assam shows that, BJP is leading on 50 seats and its ally Asom Gana Parishad on 11 while Congress leading on 19 seats, its ally AIUDF on 9.

BJP Spearheads NDA to Majority Mark in Assam
The ruling Mitrajot or the NDA, spearheaded by the BJP, is leading in 76 seats, making its way to the majority mark of 64 out of 126 assembly constituencies. BJP-led NDA leading in Assam
The ruling BJP-led NDA is leading on 33 seats, while the Grand Alliance led by the Congress is ahead on eight assembly constituencies as per official reports.
According to the Election Commission's initial trends of the results, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 27 seats while its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on six seats and United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) on six.
The Congress has established initial leads only on five seats while its partners Bodoland Peoples Front on two seats and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) on one seat.
