Muzaffarnagar: A woman's body was exhumed after days of her being buried in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh after a case was registered on dowry death, PTI reported.
The body was retained out of burial on Friday, police informed and sent for post mortem.
The woman was identified as Gulista Begum of Makhiyali village. Police said that the family of the deceased filed a complaint that she was beaten to death by her in-laws demanding a dowry of Rs 2 lakh and a motorcycle. She was buried on February 14.
A case was registered against six people, including her husband, on the basis of a complaint. The husband was arrested later. Police informed that further investigation on the matter is going on.
The woman got married in 2015.
