Chhattisgarh promises to bear expenses of Ukraine returnees

Raipur: Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced on Saturday that the state government will bear the expenses of Chattisgarh residents returning from Ukraine, The Indian Express reported.

Earlier, Rajasthan and Kerala state governments had offered similar initiatives.On Friday, Asian News International reported, citing sources that, the Union government will bear the expenses of returning citizens from Ukraine.

The Chhattisgarh state government released a statement that it will do the same for Indian citizens from the state, including students. It raised a helpdesk in New Delhi on February 22, liaison officer at Chhattisgarh Bhawan Ganesh Mishra as the nodal officer. Mishra could be contacted on phone number 01146156000, mobile number 9997060999 and fax number 01146156030, the statement added.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced on Saturday that the state would reimburse the ticket amount of Rajasthanis who left the tension marred Ukraine The CM had tweeted that during the war situation between Ukraine and Russia, the ticket amount of Rajasthanis coming back to their homeland from personal expenses will be reimbursed, as per the advisory from the Ministry of External Affairs. The state government has issued directions to facilitate the homecoming of stranded Rajasthan residents, who are arriving at Delhi, Mumbai and other airports. Rajasthan Foundation will also co-ordinate in this regard, Gehlot said in his Hindi tweet. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also announced that the state would provide flight tickets for Kerala students who land at airports of Delhi, Mumbai etc., to reach Kerala. He said that directions had been issued resident commissioner and NORKA to gather information on these students, receive them when they come to India and send them home.
