Zomato’s food delivery COO Rinshul Chandra resigns
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Rinshul Chandra, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of food ordering and delivery at Eternal Limited—formerly known as Zomato—has resigned from his position, marking another high-profile departure from the company amid ongoing internal shifts.
Chandra submitted his resignation on April 5 and will officially exit the role on April 7, according to a regulatory filing by the company. Eternal stated that Chandra is stepping down to pursue new opportunities and passions aligned with his personal and professional aspirations.
Reflecting on his time with the company, Chandra said, “It has been an incredibly fulfilling journey over the past seven years, and I am truly grateful for the trust, support, and opportunities I’ve received during my time here. I wish our world-class teams at Eternal the very best.”
Having joined Zomato in 2018 as Assistant Vice President of Product, Chandra steadily rose through the ranks. He served as Vice President and Head of Business before being appointed COO of the food delivery division, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s operations.
As of now, Eternal Limited has not disclosed who will succeed Chandra in overseeing the food delivery business.
His departure adds to a series of senior-level exits the company has witnessed in recent months. These include Hemal Jain, the Global Head of Finance and CFO of Hyperpure; Akriti Chopra, Co-founder and Chief People Officer; and Independent Director Gunjan Soni, who stepped down in October last year.
The resignation also comes amid reports of significant workforce reductions at the company. Zomato reportedly laid off around 600 customer support employees within a year of hiring them, raising questions about its internal restructuring.
Eternal Limited, in its new avatar, now operates four major business verticals—Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure—under the unified corporate identity. However, CEO Deepinder Goyal has clarified that the rebranding to Eternal applies only at the corporate level, and the Zomato brand and app will remain unchanged for consumers.
