Bangalore: Wipro, a leading global information technology consulting company, has been named in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the third time. CEI is a report on US corporate policies and practices relating to LGBTQ workplace equality. Wipro's commitment towards inclusion and sustainable diversity added it to the index.

Its superior performance in multiple categories, including inclusive benefits and workplace protection, helped Wipro score 95 out of 100. Wipro is also named in Indian Equality Index.

Sunita Cherian, Chief Culture Officer & Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources of Wipro Limited, said that the company is proud to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for its efforts. "Cultivating a culture of inclusion requires a sustained and conscious effort. Wipro is continuing to create a diverse, equitable and diverse working environment which embodies values of respect and openness," she added.

Wipro has sought to advance LGBTQ inclusion and included it in its Inclusion and Diversity Charter since 2018. It also revised the company's Code of Conduct and Equal Opportunity Policy to protect against discrimination based on gender expression and gender identity. The year 2018 also witnessed the launch of Wipro Pride; a resource group for LGBTQ+ and allies.
