Mumbai: The city's popular five-star hotel, the Hyatt Regency, is closed until further notice. The hotel is temporarily closed due to non-payment by the owners, Asian Hotels (West) Limited, for salaries and other activities.

Authorities sent a notice to the hotel staff stating that they have no money to pay their salaries. The hotel, located near Mumbai's International Airport, has suspended reservations through Hyatt booking channels. Hyatt is an American hospitality company that manages and franchises hotels. They manage the hotel in Mumbai on a contract basis for Asian Hotels (West). Hyatt officials said they were working with the hotel owners to resolve the current situation.
