Kochi: Officials of the All India Nationalised Bank Officers' Federation (AINBOF) informed that the employees would go on a nationwide strike against the privatisation of public sector banks. The strike will take place on the 15th and 16th of this month.

The general public holds about 60 per cent of deposits in public sector banks. However, most loans are given to large borrowers. The number of banks has been reduced from 27 to 12, and banks are being put up for sale.

General Secretary P Manoharan and others in-charge, including Vivek, George Joseph Biju Soloman and Francis informed at the press conference that campaigns would be conducted to create awareness about the importance of public sector banks.
