New Delhi: Google is working on a foldable smartphone, 'Pixel Notepad', and according to reports, the company will start production on the product by Q3 of 2022, IANS reported.

NoteBookCheck, the independent online portal for tech news, informed that the foldable phone is to debut after the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is launched. The latter's launch is scheduled around August.

Since Samsung's available foldable phone, Galaxy Z Fold3, costs $1,799, Google is aiming to price its foldable phone at $1,399. Google's phone is expected to come out with a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor on the back. Currently called "pipit" within Google, the phone will run with Android 12L.

It is expected to be powered by Google's own Tensor (GS101) chipset, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The device will feature a 12MP ultrawide sensor on the rear and can get two 8MP front camera sensors on each the other display and the inner display.
