New Delhi: Apple CEO Tim Cook is in Delhi ahead of the inauguration of the brand's first official store in the city. He spent time in the artistic lanes of the Lodhi Art District and the National Crafts Museum.

The billionaire was impressed by the murals created on iPads. He shared his favourite artworks and the wall art in the area. One of the artists he met, Dattaraj Naik, showed him how mural designs are made on an iPad.

"Delhi's Lodhi Art District is a remarkable public space. Congratulations to the St+art India Foundation and so many amazing artists for capturing Indian life so powerfully," wrote the tech tycoon. The Lodhi Art District is in South Delhi's Lodhi Colony. It is also India's first art district and has over 64 stunning murals. Artists from India, Iran, Germany, and Japan worked on them.

He also visited the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy and was impressed by the wood carvings. "'I could've spent the whole day at the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy. From ancient and vibrant textiles to impossibly intricate wood carvings, it displayed India's deep—and deeply beautiful— culture of craft. Thanks, Sarah Sham and Ruchika Sachdeva for showing me around!" he tweeted.

He also visited the Indian School of Design & Innovation and wrote on Twitter, "The Indian School of Design & Innovation is helping the next generation of creatives unlock their full potential. Thanks for sharing how you create those amazing designs using iPad!"

Apple's second official store in India is opening at Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi. Apple Store Saket is open to the public from Thursday. It will feature a unique design that is inspired by Delhi's many gates. However, it is smaller than the one opened in Jio World Drive at Bandra Kurla Complex.
