Sheikh Abdullah condemns Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain in regional calls

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held phone calls with foreign ministers from Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and the United Kingdom to discuss developments in the Middle East.

The calls were held with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister; Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister; Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister; and Yvette Cooper, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

Discussions focused on the latest regional developments and diplomatic work to support stability and long-term peace in the Middle East.

During his calls with the Kuwaiti and Bahraini ministers, Sheikh Abdullah strongly condemned the renewed Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain.

He expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with both countries and its support for steps taken to protect their security and stability.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the security of Kuwait and Bahrain forms part of the security of the UAE and the wider Gulf region.

The calls also covered several issues of mutual interest.
