Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kuwait on Tuesday for an official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation. He was received at Kuwait International Airport by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and senior Kuwaiti officials.
Also present at the reception were Chief of the Kuwait National Guard Sheikh Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and other senior state representatives.
The head of the honorary delegation accompanying President Erdogan was Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
Erdogan’s accompanying delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Economy and Finance Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Defence Yasar Guler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Kacir, Minister of Trade Omer Bolat and other senior officials.
His Highness the Amir held official talks with President Erdogan at Bayan Palace, attended by the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister and senior officials from both sides.
According to Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, the discussions covered bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields. The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual concern.
The meeting reflected the close ties between Kuwait and Turkiye to advance cooperation in a manner that serves common interests and supports regional stability.
During the visit, His Highness the Amir received a Turkish-made electric car, Togg, as a gift from President Erdogan at Bayan Palace. The gift symbolised the Turkish president’s appreciation and the strength of relations between the two countries. His Highness expressed gratitude for the gesture and wished continued progress and prosperity for the Turkish people.
Bilateral Agreements
In the presence of His Highness the Amir, President Erdogan, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Prime Minister, a series of agreements were signed at Bayan Palace to enhance cooperation between Kuwait and Turkiye.
