Bahrain's National Taskforce for combating coronavirus has devised new rules from the first day of Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, local media reported on Wednesday.
Bahrain will exempt COVID-19 vaccinated travellers and those recovered from the virus from PCR tests upon entry, given that they present their recovery status or vaccination certificate in the approved BeAware application.
Restaurants, cafes, indoor gyms, swimming pools, cinemas, spas, games centres, indoor halls and sports events will be open to inoculated people and those who recovered from coronavirus. Children aged under 18 years accompanied by their vaccinated parents will also be allowed entry.
However, the authorities stated that the new rules would be subjected to change depending on the Covid status in the country.
The Health Ministry urged all to adhere to the National Taskforce's precautionary instructions as the daily covid rate has crossed over 1,000, with many cases detected with the fast-spreading new variant of the virus. The ministry also advised all to avoid social gatherings and maintain social distancing along with wearing masks when outdoors.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health recorded 1,020 new cases and 920 recoveries on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 140,125.
