Singer Khailash Kher gets thrown at with bottle while performing

Bengaluru: In a concert in Hampi, Karnataka, singer Khailash Kher was thrown with a water bottle on Sunday. It is learnt that the crowd was angry because Kher kept singing only Hindi language songs, where the closing ceremony of Hampi Utsav was going on, NDTV reported as per police account.

Police said that two individuals, identified as Pradeep, 22, and Surah, 21, were arrested on the incident. They recorded their statements, too, police added.

There was footage which showed Kher performing, and a bottle was seen flying at him, though they missed him by a whisker. The flung bottle landed behind him on the stage.

However, the singer did get distracted but continued his performance. An official was seen removing the bottle seconds later, and the bottle could be seen half filled.

The Hampi Utsav is a three-day event, which this time started on Friday, and is an annual festival organised by the Karnataka government. Its intention is to commemorate the heritage of the ancient Vijayanagara Empire.
