Kejriwal doubles down his attack on Gujarat BJP over bridge tragedy

New Delhi: Opening a new warfront in Gujarat ahead of state polls, AAP leader Kejriwal is all set to cash in on the government's alleged failure in averting the tragedy.

At least 141 people were killed after the foot bridge on the Machchu River collapsed on Sunday evening.

The Opposition Congress came down on the government describing the incident a "man-made tragedy".

The state government went on faced criticism after a civil hospital in Morbi was suddenly renovated ahead of the PM Modi's visit to the hospital where the most of the injured ones are getting care.

AAP joined the congress in calling out the renovation with the latter describing the overnight works at the hospital an "event management.

Hours later, Delhi chief minister and AAP leader Kejriwal pinned down on the state BJP with a demand for polls while asking its chief minister to quit.

Arvind Kejriwal urged Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to "resign immediately" and call for Assembly polls.

Kejriwal, whose fledgling Am Aadmi Party proved to be a major national party with the win in Punjab, is trying to outwit the BJP's strong hold—Gujarat.

Kejriwal reportedly alleged that the bridge tragedy was a result of corruption.

The Delhi Chief Minister asked why a company that makes clocks was given the tender (for renovation works) of the bridge.
