Indian Army kills terrorist implicated in murder of UP man in Kashmir

Srinagar: The Kashmir Zone Police have announced the death of Adil Wani, a LeT terrorist who was involved in the murder of a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh. The terrorist was cornered and killed by security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Wani is suspected to be one of the murderers of 55-year old Sageer Ahmad from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh who was shot to death in his rented accommodation on Saturday. IGP Kashmir said Adil Wani was district commander (Shopian) of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) - The Resistance Front (TRF). The forces had launched a search in the Dragad area after a tip-off that militants may have been hiding there.

9 Indian Army officers have been killed on a sustained encounter with LeT militants since last Monday. The Army has been combing the jungles of Rajouri near Poonch where the militants have been hiding. Pakistani involvement is suspected in the training and arming of these terrorists. Militants have also been carrying out a string of civilian murders in Jammu and Kashmir which has been the worst seen since the dissolution of Article 370.
