Hyderabad man suspected of killing ill son over medical expenses

Hyderabad: A man in Hyderabad is suspected of killing his three-year-old son, reportedly unable to cope with the child’s medical expenses, police said. The incident took place in Bandlaguda, Chandrayangutta.

Bandlaguda SHO R. Devender said preliminary findings suggest the boy may have been murdered due to financial strain, though investigations are underway to confirm the motive. Action will be taken only after examining all possible angles, he said, adding that no arrests have yet been made.

The case came to light after the child’s father, Mohd Akbar, filed a complaint three days ago claiming his son had gone missing. However, police investigations indicated that he allegedly strangled the boy before dumping the body in the Musi River.

Search operations are being carried out in the river to recover the child’s remains, while officers continue to analyze evidence to establish the full circumstances of the crime.
