Police have launched an investigation after a couple from Hyderabad reportedly went missing during a vacation in Switzerland, with their family saying they have been unable to contact them for more than 20 days.
The missing couple, Pabba Chandrasekhar and his wife Pabba Swapna, are residents of Cherlapally in Hyderabad. According to the police, the couple had travelled to Switzerland on a holiday and had been in regular touch with their family before communication suddenly stopped, India Today reported.
Family members said all attempts to reach the couple have failed, with both of their mobile phones remaining switched off for over three weeks, prompting fears about their safety.
The case was registered after the couple's daughter, Pabba Shreya, filed a missing persons complaint at the Cherlapally Police Station on July 9. In her complaint, she said she had repeatedly tried to contact her parents but had received no response.
Following the complaint, police registered a missing persons case and began efforts to trace the couple. Investigators said they are trying to determine the couple's current location and verify whether they are still in Switzerland.
Officials said the investigation includes examining the couple's travel itinerary, immigration records and other travel-related documents. They are also coordinating with the relevant authorities to collect information that could help establish the couple's whereabouts.
Police said all possible angles are being examined as part of the investigation to determine the circumstances behind the prolonged loss of contact.
Meanwhile, the family has appealed to anyone with information about Chandrasekhar and Swapna to come forward, saying they are deeply worried after being unable to communicate with them for an extended period.
Officials said further steps will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation and inputs received from the agencies assisting in tracing the couple.
