Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, known as Khiladi of Bollywood, was once a hit machine. He used to deliver blockbusters and had created a huge fan base. He has released many action-packed films with martial arts skills and has also shined in films with funny and social messages. Akshay Kumar also had consistent success, which is comparable to the Khans of Bollywood.

However, everything Akshay Kumar has been doing wrong in the recent past. Akshay Kumar's affairs have turned upside down after Covid. 13 of his films have been released since, such as Bellbottom, Lakshmi, Cuttputli, Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Sethu, Selfie, Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan etc., failed to find grounds. Now, the fate is similar to his 'Sarfira, ' which was released last.

All these incurred him a loss of Rs 1000 crores. Bade Mian Chote Mian alone sustained a loss of Rs 250 crores and Samrat Prithviraj Rs 150 crores. Sarfira, produced on a budget of 80 crores, collected only 2.25 crores on the first day. As the trend of empty houses continued with Sarfira, the makers even offered free tea and two samosas! Still, it didn't make a change. After four days of release, the movie has only collected Rs 13 crores. Sarfira is a remake of Sudha Kongara's National Award-winning Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020), which itself was an adaptation of GR Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.

However, regardless of the huge loss his films sustained, his next film is also ready for release. Mohanlal starrer Malayalam thriller '12th Man', released in 2022, has been remade in Hindi as 'Khel Khel Mein'. The promotional events of the film, which will hit the theatres on August 15, will begin soon.
