Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there's no stopping Elon Musk, heaping praise on SpaceX CEO’s start-up Neuralink’s involvement in developing implantable brain–computer interfaces.

Vladimir Putin in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson for Fox News spoke on a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence (AI), NDTV reported.

The conversation veered from other topics to Elon Musk's new brain chip technology called Neuralink.

Asked about the AI technology, Putin said ‘Mankind is currently facing many threats’, adding that because of the genetic researchers, it's now possible to create a superhuman.

‘Mankind is currently facing many threats. Due to the genetic researchers, it's now possible to create a superhuman, a specialised human being, a genetically-engineered athlete, scientist, military man,’ the Russian leader was quoted as saying.

It was then Putin mentioned the experiment of implanting chip in the human brain by Elon Musk’s Neuralink.

When Carlson sought his reaction, Putin praised Elon Musk saying ‘I think there's no stopping Elon Musk. He will do as he sees fit. Nevertheless, you'll need to find some common ground with him. Search for ways to persuade him.’

The Russian leader called Musk a ‘smart person’ adding ‘so you'll need to reach an agreement with him because this process needs to be formalized and subjected to certain rules.’

Meanwhile, Putin talked about Russia’s continuing war with Ukraine defending his decision to invade the country.

‘Up until now, there has been the uproar and screaming about inflicting a strategic defeat to Russia on the battlefield. But now they are apparently coming to realize that it is difficult to achieve, if possible, at all. In my opinion, it is impossible by definition,’ he was quoted as saying.
