New Delhi: A large number of Indian students are off the hook of the situation in Ukraine, many still out there face hardships though.

Indian authorities have swung into action head on to evacuate the rest of those stranded near border regions.

As part of it, Prime Minister Modi reportedly talked over phone with Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of Slovakia on Monday.

PM Modi, as well as thanking him for permitting evacuation flights from India, asked for continued assistance in the next few days, according to IANS.

India is looking for Heger's help to bring home Indian citizens trapped in conflict zones.

Aside from this, Modi informed Heger of Union Minister Kiren Rijiu being deployed as the special envoy to oversee evacuation process in Slovakia.

While expressing anguish over the situation in Ukraine, PM Modi repeated India's appeal for both nations returning to dialogue stopping hostilities.

Modi stressed upon the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, the report said.
