Indian-American doctor not guilty of masturbating next to teen girl on plane

New York: The Indian-American doctor, accused of masturbating next to a 14-year-old girl on a plane, can ‘rebuild his life’ as he is not found guilty, New York Post reported.
Dr Sudipta Mohanty, 33, a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Mohanty was charged with performing the lewd act while flying from Honolulu to Boston in May 2022 on a Hawaiian Airlines flight.
The verdict came after a three-day trial in Boston federal court.
The doctor in his written statement said: ‘My fiance was sitting next to me on that flight, and neither of us can understand why this happened to us.’
Adding further, he said ‘I have dedicated my life to caring for others as a physician, and it has been heartbreaking to step away while I dealt with these false accusations.’
The minor accused that the doctor covered himself with a blanket up to his neck, adding that his legs bounced up and down.
The girl moved to an empty seat when the doctor went to the restroom and said she felt ‘disgusted’.
The girl alerted her grandparents about her ‘experience’ after the plane landed in Boston and they notified the police.
