Avoiding toxic people among her secrets to longevity: the world’s oldest living person
text_fieldsMaría Branyas Morera was born on 4 March 1907and is still alive and kicking, aged 115.
Only days ago Guinness World Records (GWR) picked Morera as the “world’s oldest woman living and oldest person living”.
Born in in the US and living in Spain, Morera is 115 years 321 days old as of 19 January 2023.
Morera emerged to hold the twin title after the death of 118-year-old Lucile Randon (France).
She was born in San Francisco, California, a year after her parents emigrated to the country.

The family however returned to Spain eight years later to settle in Catalonia.
María has since called the region home and spent in the same nursing home - Residència Santa María del Tura – for the past 22 years, reports say.
Guinness World Records shared a blog telling more about the world’s grandma who attributed her longevity to tranquility, family and friends, emotional stability, no worries, no secrets, lots of positivity, touch with nature and avoiding toxic people.
However, she believes that longevity is also about being lucky and having good genetics.
The blog received more than 22,000 likes alongside many comments wishing her longer life
One user wrote, “She looks very healthy, I think she can live for more than 20 years.” Another one asked her to “Hang on for 200!”
