Announce polls in 6 days: Imran Khan tells Pak government

Islamabad: It seems there is no stopping Imran Khan as he is whipping up frenzy against the Shehbaz Sharif administration, calling it ' imported' and putting to it an ultimatum of 'six days' to announce fresh elections.
Khan, who was ousted from power in April, flooded Islamabad with his supporters in the early hours of Thursday, prompting the government to call in the army to protect the Red Zone.
His supporters had to endure tear gas fumes just as the police tried to disperse them. Khan speaking to the packed rally warned the government of returning to Islamabad with 'entire nation' if it fails to announce polls in six days.
Imran Khan earlier called upon his supporters to take out a 'peaceful' protest at Islamabad's D-Chowk demanding fresh elections, to which the government responded with slapping a ban. The Supreme Court allowed the rally to take place as well as restraining the government from arresting Khan.
The protesters in their thousands poured in, and moved on removing the barricades and clashed with the police.
The ruling party said Khan violated the apex court's direction of holding the rally at a ground in H-9 Sector of the capital city.
The government called in army to what it said to "protect" the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Parliament House, Presidency, Prime Minister's Office and others after Imran Khan stormed in the capital.
Tension gripped across the nation after PTI workers clashed with police as they blocked the rally from moving toward D-Chowk in the capital.
Meanwhile, rights groups expressed deep concern at law enforcement disrupting the PTI's march to Islamabad.
