New Delhi: The chairman of RPG Group Harsh Goenka brought up a discussion surrounding the salary of ISRO chairman S Somanath on social platform X.

In a motivational post, Harsh Goenka wondered if Somanath’s monthly salary is ₹ 2.5 lakhs, asking ‘Is it right and fair?’

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully carried out two mission recently including the moon landing catapulting ISRO chief into a national hero.

Goenka wrote on X that people like S Somanath are motivated by factors beyond money.

‘ They do what they do for their passion and dedication to science and research, for national pride to contribute to their country, and for personal fulfillment in terms of achieving their purpose. I bow my head to dedicated people like him!’ Goenka added.

Many users expressed admiration for ISRO chief reacting to Goenka’s post with one user saying that ‘the dedication and passion of individuals like Chairman Somanath at ISRO are immeasurable’.

The user added that scientists are ‘driven by a deep commitment to science, research and the betterment of their nation’.

Another user said that ISRO chief should be getting 25 Lakhs a month, or more, adding ‘We should recognize and reward our talent’.

A third user gave an explanation on Somanath’s salary saying that ‘It should also depends upon other perks like home, car, servants and other non monetary fringes’.

Goenka's post achieved more than 746,000 views alongside hundreds of likes and comments.
