New Delhi: In an emergency pre-dawn hearing on Wednesday, the Delhi High Court directed police to ensure emergency treatment and safe passage to the injured stuck in Al Hind hospital here.

The hearing held at the residence of Delhi HC judge Justice S Muralidhar had in attendance joint commissioner Alok Kumar and DCP (crime) Rajesh Deo, and Delhi government counsel Sanjoy Ghose.

The hearing was held at 12:30 am after advocate Suroor Mander alerted of the several injured people having stuck at Al Hind Hospital in The New Mustafabad area. They were unable to be taken to the GTB hospital.

During the hearing the judge spoke to Dr Anwar from Al Hind Hospital on speaker phone.

The doctor informed the court there were two dead and as many as 22 injured at the hospital, needing assistance from police since 4 pm, however the help was not available.

The Court directed the Delhi Police to ensure safe passage by deploying all the resources at its command.
