Youth killed for posting a green flag in WhatsApp DP

Shivamogga( Karnataka):  A 20 year-old youth in Shivamogga district was reportedly hacked to death after he had posted a green flag in his WhatsApp DP.

Dayanath Khan, hailing from Davangere here, posted in his WhatsApp DP image of a green flag used in Eid-ul-Fitr festivity days ago.

Mistaking it for a Pakistan flag, the accused Hemanth, Lohith, and Sanju—all his friends—first confronted and attacked him a few days ago.

Following this Khan was admitted to a hospital but didn’t report incident fearing for his life.

On Saturday, the gang allegedly hacked him to death.
