Hyderabad: In a stunning repeat of assembly polls, ruling Telengana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) swept the first phase of panchayat polls.
TRS bagged 1,871 seats as of Monday evening, leaving Congress far behind at 537 seats. Sarpanch Candidates favouring TDP bagged 18 seats, whereas CPI and CPM gained 10 and 24 respectively.
Meanwhile, independent others won 469 seats.
