SC verdict will spoil family system: Jama'at-e-Islami

New Delhi: The Supreme Court verdict on Thursday which decriminalized gay sex, will lead the nation towards moral anarchy, said Jama'at-e-Islami Hind.
General secretary, Muhammad Salim Engineer said that the ruling which gave legal validity to same sex relationships was disappointing.
Allowing the marriage between two men or two women will ruin the family system. It will stop the natural progress of mankind.
The Jama'at-e-Islami firmly believes in the fundamental rights of all citizens and the right to freedom of minorities.
However, moral responsibility is a part of freedom. No society will be able to accept crimes in the name of personal liberty.
Jama'at-e-Islami Hind also urged the government and the political parties to come forward to save the nation from a situation which adversely affects the different religions, personal laws, families and children and creates a sexual anarchy.
