The United Arab Emirates has dispatched a taskforce to support Montenegro’s efforts to contain widespread wildfires, reinforcing its role in international emergency response.

A specialised UAE firefighting aircraft, loaded with essential equipment and supplies, departed Abu Dhabi on Monday for Podgorica to join operations across multiple affected areas. The mission aims to provide urgent assistance in controlling the fast-spreading blazes that have threatened several parts of the country.

The deployment was carried out under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This intervention follows similar efforts just a week ago, when UAE responders assisted Albania in extinguishing large-scale fires. The Emirates’ back-to-back missions reflect its expanding role in global disaster relief, particularly in combating wildfires intensified by extreme summer conditions in Europe.
