Over 53M worshippers visit the two holy mosques in Rabi Al-Awwal
text_fieldsThe General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced on Friday that more than 53.5 million worshippers and visitors were received at the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Rabi Al-Awwal 1447 AH.
According to the authority, the Grand Mosque in Makkah welcomed 17,560,004 worshippers, including 91,753 who prayed inside Hijr Ismail (Al-Hatim). The number of Umrah performers during the month reached 12,146,516.
In Madinah, the Prophet’s Mosque recorded 20,701,560 worshippers. Among them, 1,002,049 prayed in the revered area of Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah, while 2,071,101 visitors offered salutations to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two Companions (may Allah be pleased with them).
The authority emphasized its use of advanced sensor-based technology to monitor the flow of worshippers and Umrah pilgrims at the main entrances of both mosques. This data-driven system supports crowd management, enhances operational efficiency, and facilitates coordination with partner agencies to improve the overall pilgrim experience.
The record numbers highlight the continued dedication of the Kingdom in providing seamless services and ensuring the safety and comfort of visitors to Islam’s two holiest sites.
