King Faisal University named ‘Innovation District’ at global conference in Beijing
text_fieldsKing Faisal University (KFU) has been formally admitted as an "Innovation District" by the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).
The announcement came during the 42nd IASP World Conference on Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, held in Beijing, China, from September 15 to 19. Representing KFU, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Lily, vice president for postgraduate studies and scientific research and acting head of the innovation and business development sector, accepted the designation on behalf of the university.
Dr. Al-Lily described the recognition as an important achievement for the institution and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing scientific research and innovation in line with Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that the Innovation District status not only enhances KFU’s role within international research and innovation networks but also opens the door to new opportunities for collaboration with world-leading institutions.
By joining IASP, King Faisal University is now part of a distinguished global network of science and innovation hubs. The achievement also reflects the continued support of the Council of Universities’ Affairs and the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, both of which are actively working to strengthen Saudi universities as drivers of knowledge and technological advancement.
