NEET 2021 aspirants queue up in Kochi (PTI)

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ordered a probe into alleged discrepancies found in the OMR sheet of a National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) student in the state. The National Testing Agency will carry out an investigation into the manipulation that has occurred on the test sheet.

A single-judge bench consisting of Justice N Nagaresh passed the order after receiving the plea of student and Thrissur native, Ritu Sibi, who has claimed that several key details in her OMR sheet had been altered.

"On the OMR sheet attached to my application number, my signature was seen manipulated. The names of my parents as seen on the OMR sheet were not marked by me. My mother's name is Mini John C. But on the OMR sheet, it was shown as Mini Johna C. I had serious doubt regarding the left-hand thumb impression seen in the OMR sheet. Also, my roll number also does not tally with the bubbled portion," the plea reads as quoted by ANI.

The candidate had attended the examination on September 12. She is also demanding that the 'original' OMR sheet be produced. The court has ordered the NTA to consider all the material available from the petitioner and to produce their results and a report on the matter by November 8.
