Do not admit patients from Kerala, Karnataka hospitals told

Bangalaru: Authorities in Karnataka ordered the state’s private and the government hospitals not to take in patients from Kerala.
Earlier, Kerala high Court had ordered the Centre to remove blockades on the national highway linking both states.
Karnataka approached the Supreme Court against the Kerala High Court order asking to open the blockade on the highway at Thalapadi.
Vehicle ferrying patients were blocked at the border on Thursday as well. The district health officer in Dakshin Kannada issued no admission order to hospitals.
According to the order, as Kerala has more COVId-19 cases, taking in patients from Kerala will be a challenge.
“Karnataka has fewer COVID-19 cases compared with Kasargod district. If the border opens, there’s no doubt that patients from there will come to Mangaluru for treatment,” tweeted BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
