High Court asks if SIT probed role of higher ups in Shuhaib murder

Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked whether the Special Investigation team inquiring the murder of Youth Congress leader SP Shuhaib conducted any probe into the conspiracy angle of the case.

The court orally observed that there is a perception that workers at grassroots level wouldn’t commit such a crime without the blessings of the leadership.

Earlier while ordering CBI investigation, the Single Judge suspected larger conspiracy behind the murder and sought to unearth it. Later, the state government challenged the order before the Division Bench and got CBI probe stayed.
