Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala minister G Sudhakaran joined the verbal dispute between the Centre and the state by saying that the central minister Piyush Goyal should understand that the Constitution does not allow him to talk like a feudal lord when talking to a chief minister and ministers.

He said that it does out of line with the seat the minister is occupying to comment that in the matter of railways Kerala should ask the Congress. It is true that during the long time that the Congress ruled in the Centre, Kerala was subjected to severe neglect, but that is being continued by Goyal too. If Goyal's party which defeated the Congress and came to power in Delhi, is unable to correct the failures of the Congress, it will be better for it to rsign and quit, Sudhakaran said in a statement.

The central minister should stop futile talk and senseless attitude, and should understand the circumstances of Kerala with an open mind. A foundation stone was already laid for the coach factory in Kanjikode. Goyal who stated in answer to a submission by MB Rajesh MP in Parliament, that it will not be feasible, is now saying that the factory will not be scrapped. Changing positions in this manner is not proper. The coach factory work should start forthwith.

Sudhkaran also mentioned the attempts by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan to meet the prime minister Narendra Modi to submit a memorandum, for which audience was refused and said this is unbecoming of a prime minister, and also a negation of federal principles. As the minister in charge of railways, he has sent a letter of protest to the prime minister, Sudhakaran clarified.
