Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MLA, K. Muraleedharan said that PDP Chairman Abdunnasir Maudany's activities in Kerala were exemplary. The MLA, while inaugurating the secretariat dharna organised by Kerala Muslim Samyuktavedi, a collective of various Muslim organizations, urged the state government to intervene in the matter of getting justice and release for Maudany.

Maudany is still hunted after as he addressed the crisis faced by backward minorities and Indian secularism. Every minute which passes without justice and human rights to Maudany, democratic India is being dishonoured. UDF had taken a just stand in the case of Maudany and will continue with that, the MLA said.

Samyuktavedi state president Pachalloor Abdusaleem Moulavi presided over the dharna. He urged Kerala Chief Minister to lead an all party delegation to visit Karnataka Chief Minister to demand Maundany's release.

Muslim League state secretary Beemapalli Rasheed, Kerala Khateebs and Qadis Forum president Panipra Ibrahim Moulavi, Dakshina Jamiyathul Ulama district president Kuttichal A. Hassan Basari Moulavi, PDP vice chairman Varkala Raj, KK Sulaiman Moulavi, Samasta Kerala Jamiyatul Ulama district treasurer Naseer Khan Faisi, SYS district president Nemom Siddiq Saqafi, Dr. A. Nisaruddin and Navas Mannani Paravur spoke on the occasion. Samyukta Vedi general secretary Mylacaud Sha welcomed the participants and district president Pachira Salahuddin paid the vote of thanks.
