Dubai firm owner sets deadline for Binoy Kodiyeri to settle dues
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Dubai firm that has been engaged in a financial deal running to Rs 13 crore with Binoy Kodiyeri, son of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, has given an ultimatum to Binoy.
The firm's owner has notified Binoy of 5 February as the deadline for settling the dues failing which he will call a press conference and make all details public.
As per media reports, the counsel of Hasan Ismail Abdulla Al Marzooqi, has informed mediators in the matter that if Binoy does not pay up in time, Al Marzooqi, a UAE national who owns the company will call a press conference and release all related documents to the media.
The lawyer of Marzooqi who arrived in Kerala the other day had discussed the matter with certain mediators. It is reported that the company has sought permission to meet chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and approached Thiruvananthapuram Press Club to conduct a press conference. They are said to be planning the press meet at 4 pm next Monday.
The complaint of Marzooqi and his business partner Rahul Krishna, who hails from Kottarakkara, is that Binoy Kodiyeri together with Sreejith, son of Chavara MLA Vijayan Pillai swindled the company of 13 crore rupees.
The complaint of the Marzooqi against Binoy which had earlier been published by the media, was that he took a loan on guarantee of 53.61 lakh , in addition to 7.7 crore which the company made available to Binoy to start businesses in India, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Nepal.
