Crime Branch to enquire cases against Thripunithura Yoga Centre
text_fieldsKochi: Kerala Police's Crime Branch has taken over the case against Siva Sakthi Yoga Vidya Centre in Tripunitura, that has been at the centre of controversy around forced religious conversions.
The Crime Branch took over enquiry into three cases against the centre, with Ernakulam Crime Branch Unit in charge of the probe. They have summoned the complainants for recording their statements.
The police had already registered cases against the centre on counts of conspiracy, torture, wrongful confinement, and outraging woman's modesty basee on complaints by three women. Although Udayamperoor Panchayat had issued notice for closure of the facility, it obtained temporary permission from the High Court on the strength of which the centre has been continuing to function.
