Thrissur: A pastor was awarded 40 years rigorous imprisonment under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by the Thrissur first additional district sessions court in a sexual assault case. A fine of Rs. 20,000 was also imposed on him.
Judge K P Sudheer also ordered to give Rs. 3 lakh as compensation to the victim.
On Monday, the court had found the accused Sanil K James of Kottayam guilty in the case.
The prosecution case is that the pastor had raped the girl at his official residence in April 2014.
