Japan to welcome Muslims with Mobile Mosque
text_fieldsTOKYO: Muslim visitors to Japan during the 2020 Summer Olympics will not have to look around for mosques. Only they will have to board the waiting Mobile Mosque to perform the prayer.
The head of Tokyo sports and cultural events company that has created the mosque on wheels hopes that it will make Muslim visitors feel at home, reports AP
Mobile Mosque could be available at difference venues as needed. Yasuharu Inoue, the CEO of Yasu Project dubbed it ‘alarming’ for Japan that considers itself as part of international community to have not enough mosques.
“As an open and hospitable country, we want to share the idea of ‘omotenashi’ (Japanese hospitality) with Muslim people,” he was quoted as saying in a recent interview.
The first Mobile Mosque was unveiled earlier this week at a ceremony held outside Toyota Stadium here.
The modified truck that passes off as mosque can accommodate 50 fifty people.
