New York: Trump loyalist Chris Collins, indicted by federal prosecutors, vows to clear his name and get re-elected.
The 68-year-old was arrested, along with his son Cameron Collins, for illegal trading of stock in Australian biotech firm Immunotherapeutics. Elder Collins was a board member at the firm.
“ As I fight to clear my name, rest assured I will continue to work hard for the people and constituents of the 27 th Congressional District of New York and I will remain on the ballot running for re-election this November,” He was quoted as saying.
According to Geoffrey Berman the U.S Attorney for Southern District of New York, elder Collins ‘tipped his to confidential corporate information at the expense of regular investors”.
Son Cameron used the appropriated information for “timely trades’, according to indictment charges.
