Rape accused kills self after throwing acid on complainant’s daughter

New Delhi: A rape accused in central Delhi killed himself on Thursday after throwing acid on the victim’s minor daughter, police said.
Prem Singh was out on bail as the court allowed him to attend a family wedding.
‘The man was out on interim bail when he threatened the victim's mother to withdraw the case. When she refused, he attacked her daughter,’ officials reportedly said.
Last evening, he asked the woman who accused him of rape to withdraw the complaint against him.
When the woman refused, Signh threw acid on her 17-year-old daughter and drank some himself.
Police said that Prem Singh and the woman were neighbours in Delhi's Anand Parbat area.
Following the incident, the onlookers immediately rushed the accused and the teen to hospital.
Prem Singh died during the treatment, the girl was released after treatment.
