Only Dravidian ideology can beat Aryan ideology: MK Stalin tells Governor Ravi
text_fieldsChennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday, countering Governor RN Ravi’s dismissive remarks about Dravidian ideology, said only Dravidian ideology can beat the Aryan ideology.
He was speaking at a programme in Pallavaram to mark his Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party completing two years in power in the state, The News Minute reported.
MK Stalin’s reaction came following the Governor’s remarks in an interview to the Times of India last week in which he termed DMK’s Dravidian model an ‘expired ideology’.
Aside from this, Stalin asked the governor if he wanted to ‘rule form the Raj Bhavan’, illustratively asking who calls the shots in the state.
He was in effect asserting that the legislative authority under the constitution was given to the Parliament and state assemblies, and not the Governor, according to TNM.
Countering the Governor's comment about Dravidian ideology, Stalin said Dravidian ideology caused the extinction of Sanatana Dharma, Varnasrama Dharma and Manu Needi alongside it helped stopping the practice of belittling in the name of caste.
‘Only Dravidian ideology has the capacity to defeat Aryan ideology. That is why the governor is afraid of our ideology. Mr Governor, you need not be afraid, as Dravidian ideology will never divide people but will unify all. It will not destroy but will always create. It won’t ruin but is always correct. It won’t degrade anyone but will treat all equally. It will not ignore anyone but will take everyone along’ Stalin is quoted as saying.
In response to the Governor’s oblique reference to Tamil Nadu not a ‘heaven of peace’ citing the instance of violence in the state after the ban of PFI, Stalin asked ‘ Isn’t BJP-ruled Manipur burning now?’
He further added that there were riots in Karnataka as well but no riot has taken place in Tamil Nadu and not a single life is lost to the violence the Governor referred to after the PFI ban.
As many as 16 persons involved in the violence were imprisoned under National Security Act, he said.
